Unfortunately, I can't spend what little extra income I make twice. Meaning, the first time to buy a car, the second time to fix it. So, until VW makes a more dependable car, I am stuck with BMW's 3 series. Not a bad car, but could use a bit more Lebensraum.

Well. There's nothing perfect in the world. Only nature. But VW is one of the bigest car manufacturers and of course that in the millions of cars that they make it will be some ones with problems. Only the japanese can do cars almost perfect and the manufacturers with less production.In the dependability rating of JD Power over the average there are 6 japanese cars and the others(8) are luxury.So when u buy a car isnt just by the dependability but by the quality too.
