SOTS is a movie--not factual. I saw a bootlegged version of SOTS and felt the cold hearted white adult characters came off poorly. The children preferred to spend their time with the black adults. I would've done the same. Hollywood still plays the game on a different levels--'rurals' are portrayed as inferior to 'urbans'... But it had good music and was a good story with lessons to be learned, both intentional and unintentional...
