JUDY GARLAND "GET HAPPY"Though it's called Summer Stock, this marvelous "let's put on a show" musical - the final one that showcased the peerless pair of Judy Garland and Gene Kelly - is a delight for all seasons. The story is simple: a homespun farm family allows a Broadway production company to rehearse its new show on their property - if the performers "pay" their way by pitching in with all the farm chores! But the pleasures are abundant: a show-stopping, all-star "Battle of the Dances" that starts out as a square dance and blossoms into a cavalcade of high-stepping dance favorites; Kelly's marvelous song and later dance to "You, Wonderful You;" four of the most popular comedic screen actors ever: Phil Silvers, Eddie Bracken, Hans Conried and Marjorie Main; and Garland's incomparable "Get Happy," a smashing sequence that's one of her peak movie moments.

If some actors now had a quarter of her talent movies would be worth spending the 10 bucks on per person.

yes I don't like Rufus Wainwright either. He comes across as very smug and pretentious. I don't like how he was dissing Judy's looks and said that she was really unattractive yet had everyone watching her and loving her and how he is the same way. Please Rufus, you're just unattractive now everyone watches and loves YOU. lol

I think Anne Hathaway would make a perfect Judy Garland, if they ever decided to make another movie about her. But frankly, Im not sure just how tall Anne is, and judging by the video, Judy had to have been approximately 5'2 give or take. But again, that is just a mere guess.

This is Garland at her best. She had just come off a rest period to finish the movie Summer Stock. Kelly gave her a break giving her this part in the movie now that he was the star and hers was on the decline. He repaid an old favor and remembered when the roles were reversed and he was the new kid on the block.
