In recent years the symbiote has left Eddie for the Scorpion. Eddie had been struggling with Cancer without it and recently developed new anti-symbiote powers.They did tangle initially but it seems Eddie and Peter may be reaching some sort of understanding

Venom blames Peter for ruining his life (And to an extent Peter actually did.)Venom's rationale for getting Spidey was more along the lines of "I won't let him do to others what he did to us" so by his perception he wants to PROTECT innocents from Spider-Man ruining their lives. This also extends to preventing innocents from harm by villains too, but in a more permanent fashion. Hence his title of "Lethal Protector"

Plans were made for Spider-Man 4 during the making of the 3rd film as Peter & Connors look at a symbiote piece. The film then travels on without another real word of that piece which sets up #4 where the symbiote then falls on Cletus K. & becomes CARNAGE. Connors is the long awaited LIZARD as he's injected with serum drawn from lizards! These 2 have been APPROVED for S-M 4. Theres talk of the BLACK CAT based on her love w/ Parker leading to conflicts between Pete & MJ but thats all but official.

The worst thing to ever happen to venom was having that scrawny Topher Guy play him in the movie... Huge disrespect the venom. Out of all people they picked the guy who plays a whimp in a tv show. BROCK LESNER would have been perfect since he even looks like the comic book character,
