i dont get it in motogp they dont use freakin 17s like on the street they use 16,5 or 16 , so they mount street wheels too? weird

Geat rider and great publicity stunt, but I don't suppose it's possible that the stack of tyres they randomly chose from were all "trick" compounds were they? Sorry to sound cynical.

"8 seconds behind his best last year on competition tyres". Very impressive, but why were these control laps last year? Maybe his bike is quicker this year!

ya, thats what im saying. there is no way possible you could take a 800cc moto gp bike and get anywhere near a real lap time, on street legal tires..8 seconds? i mean, ya, 8 seconds is HUGE. but still, they werent out there TESTING, they were basically advertising. also, im pretty sure it was 8 seconds slower, PER lap. saying for the sake of arguing, he ran a 1.325 on the spec tires last year, on these he ran a 1.405..just what i think tho..

Err, correction, you are right. In that case, 1,6 seconds a lap is astonishing.
Pogost1ck (December 31, 1969 at 4:59 pm)
Im-possible. The traction on a slick is much higher so its 8 seconds a lap I reckon.

Im 100% sure they've mounted the tires to the GP bike and then rode them. What a lame stunt would it be if they hadnt.
