The ignorance of that comment is astounding. Come on, there are countless of self-portraits of the rich, who most likely didn't make up what they were wearing! The only thing debatable over time would be what peasants wore, but then again, what they wore hardly changed over time.As for dances, it would have been recorded in history, because you know, many composers made music for certain dances...oh and things past down through the generations...
