I like the reason "I forgot" too much to want that sort of memory... It's so conveinent to forget "that something" when you really don't want to do it, but this poor guy can't use that excuse. He HAS to do it, or think up some other reason, which can't be that easy to do. In My book, forgetting is great... Mind you I lost a complete week of memorys after an accident in 1990, I'd love to know what really happened.
