DONNA KARAN FALL 08 LINE-NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

If you've ever traveled and been inspired by something you saw on the road then you'll relate to Donna Karan's inspiration for this collection -- women who are world travelers. Inspired by scenes from Budapest; Paris; Venice and New York, the designer channeled urban opulence and confidence. How does that translate to fall clothes? There are two ways. The show had two themes, the first was clothes that are fluid ad slouchy like a cowl neck dress or cardigan bathrobe in cashmere and the second was smart, structured pieces. Fabrics are very sumptuous and yet weightless from jersey to chiffon to tweed and lacquered velvet. Evening wear is body conscious, hugging and curving the body and then falling to the floor. Tapestry, sequins and beads were details that popped-up throughout the show.
